Dry Skin Suggestions
Dry skin is more common during the winter months, when humidity is low.
Some people also have a genetic, or hereditary, tendency to develop dry
skin. In addition, elderly people tend to have more trouble with dry
skin due to the natural changes in skin that occur with age.
Treatment is important because extensively dry skin can lead to
dermatitis, a more severe inflammation of the skin.
Suggestions for treating dry skin:
-
Taking lukewarm baths or showers (instead of hot ones).
-
Limiting baths/showers to 5 to 10 minutes.
-
Applying a moisturizer right after drying off from a shower or washing
your hands, an excellent choice is our Kukui Moisturizing Lotion or our Coconut Oil Lotion.
-
Use a moisturizing body or hand soap, our Coconut Oil Soap
will leave your skin feeling soft and smelling wonderful also.
-
Use creams like our Kukui Moisturizing Cream during the winter months
for extra moisturizing protection, or use as a night cream anytime, and the Kukui Moisturizing Lotion in the summer months.
Kukui cream is a light, greaseless cream made with kukui oil and vitamin
E that penetrates skin quickly to restore your skin’s natural, supple softness and moisture it needs. Kukui is a favorite ingredient in
natural skin care products.
The Kukui or Coconut oil products are both excellent choices for natural moisturizing of your skin. Give them a try!
